High temperature and safety labels for marking flanged joints

In cooperation with a renowned chemical group, EKS-Etiketten has developed a solution based on the VDI 2290 guideline of the german VCI association, which is successfully applied since 2 years.

This is a heat-resistant security label specially developed for this application, which guarantees tamper-proof marking. If required, it can be printed with a personalised 1D or 2D barcode and a consecutive number for identification.

For this solution blocks with individually removable high temperature labels have been developed.
Due to their compact form, the blocks can be easily carried along by the technician or by the auditor.

There may also be a control mechanism for the cross-checking of an auditor. Personalisation strengthens the sense of responsibility of the fitter and thus ensures flange connections. Due to their special design, they can also be removed from the block with protective gloves.

Material description

  • Temperature resistance -40°C to +400°C
  • Long term temperature +250° C
  • Safe mounting even at very low temperatures, important for outdoor use!
  • Extremely high adhesive strength on the most difficult surfaces, such as rusty steel, cast iron, etc.
  • Extreme resistance to UV radiation and weathering
  • Self-extinguishing
  • Non-flammable

What is regulated in VDI 2290?

The german guideline VDI 2290 states the assessment of the technical tightness of flanged joints for liquid and gaseous media for which emission-limiting requirementsare specified – according to TA Luft (German air pollution control association)

VDI 2290 regulates WHO, HOW and WHAT may or must be installed – also HOW and WHAT has to be documented. The guideline was established in 2012. In 2016 it was revised and a new guideline was created.
